ポーランドからの贈り物 A Package from Poland 2

数週間前、プーペガールの友達Gillanekちゃんからまた素敵な贈り物を頂きました。中には美味しいポーランドのお菓子、美しいジュエリー、素晴らしいコスメ品と素敵なちょっとしたサプライズが入っていました。

A few weeks ago I received another wonderful package from my poupée friend Gillanek. Inside this package were delectable Polish sweets, dazzling jewelry, fabulous cosmetics, and a few lovely surprises.


Tofinekのキャラメルウエハース、Delfina P. チョコレートとワイルドストロベリーのルースリーフのお茶です。日本でオランダのウエハースを見付けましたが、Tofinekの様な美味しいシナモン風味ではありませんでした。Delfina P.チョコレートの名前の由来は、美しさと聡明さで有名だったポーランドのデルフィナ・ポトツカ伯爵夫人から来ています。（ショパンのミューズでもあり、恋人だったという噂もあるようです。）ルースリーフのお茶は、甘いハーブティーで、少し野イチゴのすっぱい後味があります。

Tofinek caramel wafers, Delfina P. chocolate, and loose-leaf tea with wild strawberries. Although I have found the Dutch version of these wafers in Japan, they do not have the delicious cinnamon-like flavor that the Tofinek wafers have. The Delfina P. chocolate is named after Polish Countess Potocka, famed for her beauty and intellect. (She was also a muse to Chopin and some suspect they may have been lovers.) The loose-leaf tea is a sweet herbal tea with the slightly tart aftertaste of wild strawberries.


これはポーランドのファッション＆ショッピング雑誌『Hot』です。Gillanekちゃんは親切にもポーランド語を英訳したものを入れてくれました。雑誌のカバーでモデルさんが着ているゴージャスなドレスはC.M. Nadarzynの物で、カラフルなネックレスはMaknaDesignというブランドの物です。とても優雅なコンビネーションですね！

This is the Polish fashion and shopping magazine Hot. Gillanek was kind enough to include English translations of many of the articles. The gorgeous dress the model is wearing on the cover is a C.M. Nadarzyn design and the colorful necklace is from MaknaDesign. Just exquisite!

Beauty content also fills some of the pages of Hot and there are some nice editorial shots, as well.


これは、 Haiku Fristajl（俳句フリースタイル）というバンドの"Kazik na Wakacje" (夏休みのカジック君) というシングルCDで、メンバーの一人で有名なジャズボーカリストのSojkaさんのサインが入っています。Haiku Fristajlは、ポーランド語に加えて日本語で俳句を詠んでおり、とてもモダンなサウンドを奏でています。

This is an autographed copy of "Kazik na Wakacje" (夏休みのカジック君) by Haiku Fristajl (Haiku Freestyle) signed by one of the members of the band, renown jazz vocalist Sojka. Haiku Fristajl actually sings their haikus in Japanese in addition to Polish, and have a very modern sound.


これはJoannaというボディ＆ヘアケアのブランドのNaturiaラインのピーリングジェルです。ジューシーな完熟みかんのような香りがします。

Peeling gel from body and hair care brand Joanna's Naturia line. It smells like a juicy, ripe tangerine.


このハンドメイド ブレスレットはポーランドの海で採取された琥珀で作られています。日光が当たった時の輝きは、本当に素晴らしいです。ピアスはワルシャワのGaleria Centrumのピアスです。これは前にGillanekから頂いたパープルのストーン入りのピアスと同じような可愛らしいアンティーク風デザインです。

This is a handmade bracelet with Polish ambers from the sea. The way the amber beads glow in the sunlight is absolutely stunning. The earrings are from Galeria Centrum in Warsaw. They have the same lovely antique-like design as the earrings with the purple stones that Gillanek last sent me.


Jokoコスメティックスのプレスド アイシャドウ デュオのJ208です。このスモーキーなスモモ色と薄いパープルピンクのシャドウは発色が良く、美しいパール感があります。

Pressed eye shadow duo in J208 from Joko cosmetics. The smokey plum and pale purple-pink shadows are well-pigmented and have a beautiful pearl finish.


InglotのM3 アイシャドウは温かみのあるアースカラーで夏にピッタリです。このシャドウは琥珀のブレスレットとGaleria Centrumのピアスにもマッチします。

最後は、Gillanekが上手に作り上げたクロスステッチのバースデーカードです。とても可愛いので、額に入れて飾っておきたいほどです。

IGNIS Mini Esthe Mask Smoothing

2ヶ月前、ハイエンドのスキンケア会社のイグニスがトレジャーラインミニエステとして４種類のマスクを発売しました。私は乾燥肌と敏感肌に悩まされていますので、ミニエステ マスクスムージングを試 してみることにしました。マスクスムージングは肌を瑞々しくし、落ち着かせてくれます。このマスクスムージングはパウダー、ジェル、カップ、スパチュラがセットでついています。マスクを作るために、まずプラスチックのカップにパウダーを入れ、さらにジェルを加えて約１分間ほど材料を混ぜ合わせます。混ぜ合わせた物はフワフワした質感で淡いグリーン色になります。いつもご自身でやられているスキンケアを終えた後、スパチュラを使って顔に塗っていき、約3分間放置します。終わりましたら、スパチュラやティッシュを用いてマスクを取り除きます。この時に水で洗い流さないようにしてください。

Two months ago, high-end skincare company Ignis released four different masks in their Treasure Mini Esthe Line. Since I suffer from both dry and irritated skin, I decided to give their Mini Esthe Mask Smoothing a try. Mask Smoothing is a mask to both hydrate and calm the skin. It comes with a packet of powder, gel, and a mixing bowl and spatula. To make the mask, pour the powder into the plastic mixing bowl, add the gel and mix the ingredients for about one minute. The mixture should have a fluffy texture and light green color. Apply the product to your face with the spatula after you have gone through your regular skincare routine and leave it on for 3 minutes. Use the spatula to remove the product or tissue it off when you are done. Do not wash off the mask with water.


マスクスムージングは顔に塗ると非常に冷たくて、気持ちを落ち着かせてくれます。少し強いラベンダーの香りがありま すが、強すぎるということはありません。マスクを取り除いた後、私の顔の赤みがいくらか引いたように感じましたが、もしかしたらマスクの色がグリーンだからかもしれません(緑色は赤色を中和するので)。マスクの原材料は、いつも私の皮膚を痛めるエタノールとメントールを含んでいますが、全くヒリヒリしませんでした。 これはマスクを長時間塗布しないからかもしれません。私は寝る直前にマスクを使いましたが、一日を家でのんびり過ごすという日以外でしたら、やはり寝る前 の使用をお勧めします。寝る前に顔がちょっとベトつきましたが、朝には滑らかになっていました。

Mask Smoothing is incredibly cool on the face and quite soothing. It has a lavender scent that is somewhat strong but not overpowering. After removing the mask, I noticed that some of the redness in my face had dissipated although that might have been due to the green color of the mask (as green neutralizes red). Though the mask ingredients do contain ethanol and menthol, which my skin often cannot tolerate, they did not irritate at all. This could be because the mask is not applied for very long. I used the mask right before going to bed which is what I recommend unless you plan to spend the day relaxing at home. My face did feel slightly sticky before going to bed but was smooth by morning.

ミニエステ マスクはSKIIのシートマスクなどの他のハイエンドマスクよりは安いですが、それでもお値段は高めです。マスクスムージングには２～３枚のマスクを作るのには充分すぎるほどの商品が入っていますが、材料が包みに入っていて一度開けると保存がきかないため、マスクの材料は1度きりしか使えません。使用してみた結果は、もう一度使ってみようと説得させるほど劇的なものではなかったですが、 マスクスムージングは暑い日のお肌には良いコスメかもしれません。このイグニスのミニエステマスクスムージングは1,575円(税込み)です。シートマスクに興味がある方に、イグニスは日々のスキンケア用のネイチャー ウォーター マスクも販売しています。

The mini-esthe mask is rather expensive though cheaper than some of the other high-end masks such as SKII's sheet masks. There is more than enough product in Mask Smoothing for two or three masks but because the mask ingredients come in packets and cannot be stored once opened, you cannot use the mask ingredients more than once. I cannot say that the results were dramatic enough to convince me to use it again but Mask Smoothing does seem like it would be a nice cosmetic treat for your skin on a hot day. One Ignis Mini-esthe Mask Smoothing is 1575 yen (including tax). For those of you interested in sheet masks, Ignis has also released the Nature Water Mask which is a sheet mask for regular skincare use.

ADDICTION Spring Collection Addiction Campaign Set

On February 25th, Addiction released their 2010 Spring Collection "Pastel Rainbow," as well as two limited edition sets. The Campaign Addiction set which I purchased includes, one lipstick in 018S Poupée, one eyeshadow in 036P Limoncello, a blush in 09 Acid Pink, a mini-size Misty On skin refresher, one mini-size lipgloss in 003 Dream Pillow, and an original Addiction pouch. Poupée, Limoncello, and Acid Pink are all limited edition shades.

アディク ション オリジナルのポーチは頑 丈でスタイリッシュ、シルバーのクラッチに適度な量のパッドが入っていて、コスメを守ってくれます。結構小さいので、キャンペーンアディクションセットの ような、いくつかの製品が入るほどの大きさでしかありませんが、持ち歩くには充分の良い出来で魅力的です。

The original Addiction pouch is a sturdy and stylish, silver clutch with a fair amount of padding to keep your cosmetics safe. It is quite small and only large enough to store a few products, such as the Campaign Addiction set, but it is well-made and attractive enough to carry with you around town.

アディクショ ンリップスティックのプペはミディアム・ピンクのシアーなリップカラーです。つややかで光沢があり、潤いがありますが、幾分かしか発色がないので、もともと唇の色が薄くない方や色を ハッキリと見せたいという方は、リップコンシーラーかプライマーをつける必要があると思います。私の場合は、唇が僅かに明るくなって少しピンクになるだけですが、これは好きな色です。

The Addiction lipstick in Poupée is a medium-pink lip color that applies sheer. It is waxy, shiny and moisturizing but because it is only somewhat pigmented, you will need to wear a lip concealer or primer if your lips are not naturally pale and you want the color to really show. In my case, it only makes my lips look slightly lighter and pinker but I do like the shade.

リモンチェロは明るくて、ゴールドのようなパール感があるライムグリーン色をしたアイシャドウです。それなりに発色は 良いですが、明るい肌には微かにしか見えません。色の濃さはシャドウを湿らせて付けることで強めることが出来ますが、リモンチェロはスプリングキャンペーンのモデルに見えるほど、ドラマチックでも濃いわけでもありません。アイシャドウのパウダー自体は非常に柔らかくてスムーズ、そして私が過去にレビューした全てのアディクションのシャドウ と同じくキープ力があります。この色は春にピッタリですし、もしグリーンが好きという方には、メイクアップコレクションの中のひとつとして持つにふさわしいシャドウです。

Limoncello is a bright, lime-green eyeshadow with a pearly gold sheen. It is fairly pigmented but can look almost subtle on pale skin. You can build up its intensity by applying the shadow wet but Limoncello is not quite as dramatic or as intense as it appears on the model in the spring campaign. The eyeshadow powder itself is very soft, smooth and has great lasting power as with all of the Addiction shadows that I have reviewed in the past. It is a perfect shade for spring and if you are fond of green, it is a great shadow to have in your makeup collection.

ブラッシュ のアシッドピンクは良質な白いラメが入ったローズピンクのフェイスカラーです。このブラッシュは健康的な赤らみとピンクのパール感、そして近寄ってみないと気付かないほどですが、キラキラを与えてくれます。フェイスパウダー自体は柔らかくて多少発色が良く(恐らく暗 めの肌だと分からないかもしれません)、肌にすぐに馴染みます。これは春と夏にピッタリなブラッシュで す。

The Blush in Acid Pink is a rose-pink face color packed with fine white shimmer. The blush gives the cheeks are nice healthy flush, a pearly-pink sheen and a pretty sparkle that is only really noticeable up close. The face powder itself is soft and somewhat pigmented (though may not show on darker skin tones) and instantly blends into the skin. This is just the right blush for spring and summer.

リップグロ スのドリームピローは、ラメが入ったパール感のあるホワイトグロスです。グロスは濃くもべとつきもしませんし、シアーな仕上がりです。唇をシャイニーで少しキラキラさせます。輝きを出すために、他のリップの上からこのグロスを使うことも出来ます。

The lip gloss in Dream Pillow is a pearly-white gloss with white shimmer. The gloss is neither thick nor sticky and applies sheer. It leaves the lips shiny and just a little sparkly. You can wear it over another lip color for some shine.

ミスティオンのトラベルブレンドはオーガニックでジュニパーベリーの香りがする、センチフォリアバラ花エキスとローズウォーターも配合された、スキンリフレッシャー です。ミストは肌と気持ちをリフレッシュさせる手助けをしてくれます。疲れて”リフレッシュ”したいと感じた時に、ミスティオンを顔から20～30センチ離してスプレーします。これだけを買おうとは思いませんので、キャンペーンアディクションセットには代わりの別のグロスをもうひとつ入れて欲しかったです。

Misty On in travel blend is an organic, juniper berry scented skin refresher that also contains rosa centifolia extract and rose water. The mist is supposed to help refresh your skin and mind. When you are tired and in need of feeling "refreshed," spray Misty On 20-30 cm away from your face. This is not a product that I would purchase separately and would have preferred it if the Campaign Addiction set included another lip gloss instead.

アディクションの2010年スプリングコレクションのキャンペーンアディクションセットは春に適したポイントメイクアップセットです。唯一残念なのは、ちょっと場違いなミスティオンのスキンリフレッシャーです。ほとんどの製品を使うと思いますが、マストアイテムのコフレと言えるかというと定かではありません。もし1つか２つ の製品にしか興味がないのであれば、セットではなく、別々に買うことをお勧めします。キャンペーンアディクションセットは7,980円(税込み)です。

Overall, the Campaign Addiction set from Addiction's 2010 Spring Collection is a decent point makeup set for spring. The only disappointment is the Misty On skin refresher which seems out of place. While I do see myself using most of the products, I do not know if I would call this a must-have coffret. If you are only interested in one or two of the products, I recommend forgoing the set and purchasing the products separately. The Campaign Addiction set is 7,980 yen (including tax).

豆腐の盛田屋 豆乳よーぐるとぱっく「玉の輿」(Soy Yogurt Face Mask, "Tama no Koshi")

豆腐の盛田屋の豆乳よーぐるとぱっく「玉の輿」は、大丸デパートのオンラインショップで最も売れているフェイスパックです。豆乳ベースのヨーグルト、ラクトフェリン、そしてローヤルゼリーが混合されており、肌を明るく、柔らかくしてくれます。使い方は、顔全体にパックをたっぷり塗り、５～10分おきます。パックは結構厚くてベトベトするので、水で完全に落とす前にコットンを使って少し取り除くことをオススメします。

The soy yogurt face pack "Tama no Koshi" from the Moritaya tofu company has been one of the top selling facial masks on the Daimaru Department store webshop. It contains a mixture of soy-based yogurt, lactoferrin (LF) and royal jelly to brighten and soften the skin. To use the mask, apply a generous amount of the product to the whole face and leave it on for 5-10 minutes. Because the mask is quite thick and sticky, it is recommended that you use a cotton ball or pad to remove some of the product before washing it completely off with water.


このパックは無着色・パラベン不使用で肌に優しいスキンケア商品と宣伝されていますが、アルコールと香料を含んでいます。玉の輿を洗い流した後、私の顔は大きな赤い出来物で覆われていました。肌は柔らかくなった感じがしましたが、痒くてチクチクし、完全に治るまで数日間もかかりました。＠cosmeのレビューによると、他にも同じように残念な経験をした方がいるようです。玉の輿にはいくつか良いレビューもありますが、私の経験からすると他の皆さんにオススメはできません。玉の輿は1,575円(税込み)で送料別です。

Though the mask is advertised as a mild skincare product free of dyes or parabens, it contains alcohol and fragrance. After I washed off Tama no Koshi, I found that my face was completely covered in large red bumps. Though my skin did feel softer, it was itchy and irritated and took a couple of days to completely recover. According to reviews at @cosme, may others have also had poor experiences with this mask. There are a number of positive reviews of Tama no Koshi but my own experience makes me reluctant to recommend this product to anyone. Tama no Koshi is 1,575 yen (including tax) not including shipping.

SK-II 肌力 キャンペーン：スキン シグネチャー実感キット (SK-II Skin Signature Trial Kit)

先月、私はSK-IIの「肌力キャンペーン」スキン シグネチャー トライアルキットのモニターとして10,000の中の１人に選ばれ、試用＆レビューをしました。このキットには：

それに使用方法と使う時間の詳しいインストラクションが書かれたブックレット/体験記が入っています。１週間のトライアルキットは1,000円(送料込み)で、一般的なドラッグストアで買えるスキンケアのトライアルキットと同じくらいの値段ですし、SK-IIの3Dシートマスクが1つで2,400円もすることを考えると、かなりお買い得だと思います。

Last month, I was one of 10,000 people to test and review SK-II's Skin Signature Trial Kit from their "Skin Power" campaign. The kit included:

-Facial Treatment Essence (30ml)
SK-II's most popular product, a balancing treatment essence containing over 90% pure pitera (a nutrient-rich antioxidant found in sake yeast) that smooths and renews skin
-Skin Signature (15g)
An anti-aging, moisturizing cream that helps diminish the appearance of wrinkles and firms skin.
-Skin Signature 3D Redefining Mask (1 mask)
A 2-sheet mask containing Saccharomycopsis (also known as "pitera") that soothes and softens skin, as well as improve elasticity.
-MF Quality Cotton N (10 sheets)

and a booklet/diary with detailed instructions on how to use and when to apply the products. The 1-week trial kit cost 1,000 yen (including shipping) which is the standard price for drugstore skincare trial kits and a fairly good deal considering that just one SKII 3D sheet mask costs over 2,400 yen.


私はインストラクションに注意して従いながら、1週間の肌力プログラムの初日の夜に３D リディファイニング マスクを使いました。マスクはミルキーなエッセンスがタップリ含まれており、非常に肌を落ち着かせました。マスクのデザインも付けやすく、また落ちにくいように作られています。（マスクは2枚の別々のシートになっており、1枚は額と目の周りに、もう1枚は鼻と鼻から下部分用です。）翌朝、鏡を見てみると普段よりも肌が明るく見えました。肌は滑らかでみずみずしいですがオイリーでもなくベタつきもせず、ロザケアからくる赤みも明らかに少なくなっていました。ですが、３D リディファイニング マスクに対する不満点は、目と口のために開いている穴が非常に小さいことと、値段が非常に高いということです。

Carefully following the instructions, I used the 3D Redefining Mask the first night I began SKII's week-long Skin Power program. The mask was chalk full of milky-white essence that was extremely soothing. The design of the mask also made it very easy to apply to and keep on my face. (It comes in two separate sheets: one to wear over the forehead and eye area and another for the nose on down.) The next morning when I looked in the mirror, my face looked brighter than usual; my skin was smooth and hydrated (but not oily or sticky); and the redness from my rosacea was visibly toned down. The only disappointing aspect of the 3D Redefining Mask was that the holes for the eyes and mouth were very small and the actual price of the masks is quite high.

フェイシャルトリートメント エッセンスとスキンシグネチャー クリームを使ってみましたが、残念ながら満足のいくものではありませんでした。気付いたのですが、私の肌はトリートメント エッセンスを付けるとすぐにチクチク痛み、またスキンシグネチャークリームは、3Dマスクを使った後は何ともなかったですが、それ以外は私の肌を乾燥させました。かゆい、小さな赤いポツポツが顔全体に出て、ハリがあるというよりも痛みを感じるような張り詰めた感じになってしまったので、トライアルキットを止めないといけませんでした。このキャンペーンに参加した他の人のレビューを読んでみると、非常に気に入った方とアレルギー反応が出てダメだった方とに大きく分かれたようです。

My experience with the Facial Treatment Essence and Skin Signature cream were not as pleasant, unfortunately. I noticed that, as soon as I applied the Treatment Essence, I felt a prickly sensation and the cream, except when applied after wearing the 3D mask, dried out my skin. Itchy, tiny red bumps began to show all over my face, which also felt more tight than firm in an almost painful way, and I had to quit using the trial kit. After reading many other reviews from others who participated in the Skin Power campaign, I have found that most either love these two products or have experienced some kind of allergic reaction to them.


もし機会がありましたら、トリートメント エッセンスを購入する前に試用してみることをオススメします。もし敏感肌でしたら、使わない方が良いかもしれません。スキンシグネチャーの方も、乾燥肌と敏感肌の方使用しない方が良いと思います。でも、３D リディファイニング マスクは非常に優れた商品なので、6枚で14,175円(税込み)を払っても良いという方にはオススメします。同様の物でお手頃な物にインナーシグナルのリジュブネイトマスクがあり、こちらは6枚で8,400円(税込み)です。両方ともに高額ですが、市場に出ているシートマスクの中では最高レベルです。

If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend testing the Treatment Essence before making a purchase. If you have sensitive skin, you should probably avoid the product. I also think that anyone suffering from dry and/or sensitive skin should stay away from the Skin Signature cream. However, SKII's 3D Redefining Mask is an excellent product and I highly recommend it to anyone willing to pay 14,175 yen (including tax) for 6 masks. For a cheaper alternative, InnerSignal's Rejuvenate Mask comes at 6 masks for 8,400 yen (including tax). Though both are on the pricey side, they are some of the best sheets masks on the market.

FANCL Mild Cleansing Oil

ファンケルのマイルドクレンジングオイルは最高のオイルベースのメイク落としとして＠コスメに比較的長い間ランクインしており、自分でそのメイク落としを試してしまった後では、もはや最高のメイク落としであると認めざるを得ません。ただ一押しのクレンジングオイルを乾いた瞼につけてマッサージし、水で洗い流せばメイクが簡単に落ちます。私のアイメイクのほとんどはウォータープルーフなので、以前はいつもオイルクレンジングに加えて拭き取りタイプのメイク落としを使わなければなりませんでした。でもファンケルのクレンジングを使えば、ランコムのBi FacilもイヴサンローランのDémaquillant Yeux'sを使う必要が無くなります。たったワンステップでメイクが落ちます。

FANCL's Mild Cleansing Oil has been ranked as the best oil-based, makeup-removing cleanser by @cosme for quite some time and after having the chance to try the remover myself, I have to say that it comes at no surprise. Simply apply one pump of the cleansing oil to your (dry) eye-lids, massage, rinse and watch your makeup melt away. As most of my eye-makeup is water proof, I have always had to rely on a wipe off remover in addition to an oil cleanser to wash my makeup away. But with FANCL's Cleasing Oil, my make-up removing routine no longer requires Lancôme's Bi Facil or YSL's Démaquillant Yeux's help. Just one step and I'm makeup-free.

マイルドクレンジングオイルは他のオイルクレンザーよりも薄く、脂っこさが残ったり毛穴に残ったりしません。肌に優しく、目をヒリヒリさせたり乾燥させたりしません。メイク落としはアルコールフリー・香料フリー、そして多くの刺激物が入っていません。お手頃な価格のメイク落としの中では、今までに使った中で一番良いと思います。目をぼんやりさせますが、DHCのクレンジングオイルやビオレのパーフェクトオイルよりもメイクを良く落としてくれるので、そこはちょっと我慢します。

Mild Cleansing Oil is thinner than most oil cleansers and does not leave a greasy residue or clog pores. It is gentle and does not sting nor leave the eyes dry. The remover is alcohol-free, fragrance-free and free of many other potentially-irritating ingredients. It is one of the best affordable makeup removers that I have ever used. However, it does cloud the eyes but since it does a much better job of removing makeup than DHC's Cleansing Oil and Bioré's Perfect Oil, I am willing to put up with a little temporary discomfort.

Etude House Aqua Sherbet Ice Toner

エチュードハウスのアクアシャーベット アイストナーは日本のファッション・美容の雑誌から注目を浴びています。トナーの有効成分にはグレープフルーツとアラスカのミネラル豊富な氷河水が含まれていますが、これは典型的な温泉水・氷河水スプレーとは違います。多くのエア噴射式トナーはミスト状のミネラルウォーターをスプレーしますが、アイストナーからは結晶化されたミネラルウォーターのフォームがシューシュー音を立てて溶け、ひんやり冷たいトナーになります。トナーは液状になって出て来ないので、コットンなどにスプレーしてから顔や首に使います。氷ほどは冷たくないですが、このトナーは普通のミネラルウォータースプレーよりもひんやりし、エクササイズの後や暑い日に使うと、とても良く肌を落ち着かせてくれます。でも、このトナーは私の肌を乾燥させたので涼しい季節ではあまり良い効果を得られないかもしれません。これはトナーというよりはコールドスプレーという感じで、必携品とまではいかないと思います。私が使っているアベンヌのサーマルスプリングウォータースプレーからアクアシャーベット アイストナーへ切り替えるつもりはありませんが、このトナーはこれからもエクササイズの後のクールダウン用に使おうと思います。アクアシャーベット アイストナーは韓国のエチュードハウスで9,000ウォンでしたが、多くのオンラインストアでは定価の２倍、時には３倍の値段で販売されています。

Etude House's Aqua Sherbet Ice Toner has received quite a bit of attention from Japanese fashion and beauty magazines. Although the toner's active ingredients include grapefruit and mineral rich glacial water from Alaska, it is is not your typical thermal or glacial water spray. While most aerosol-can toners spray a mist of mineral water, what comes out of the Ice Toner is a crystallized form of the mineral water that then sizzles and melts into an ice-cold toner. Because the toner does not come out in liquid form, the solution should be sprayed onto a cotton pad that you should then apply to your face and neck. Though not quite as cold as ice, the toner is much cooler than the average mineral water spray and I find it very soothing after exercising or a day in hot weather. However, the toner also dries out my skin and I do not think this product would work well for anyone during the colder seasons. It is much more of a cold spray than an actual toner and I would not consider it a must-have product. Although I do not plan to replace my Avene Thermal Spring Water spray with the Aqua Sherbet Ice Toner, I intend to continue to use the toner on my neck and body after exercise to help cool down. The Aqua Sherbet Ice Toner is 9000 won at Etude House in Korea but many online vendors are selling it for double and in some cases, triple the original place.

The Face Shop Wash Off Yogurt Mask

ヨーグルトパック ウォッシュオフタイプはソウルのThe Face Shopで購入した商品です。このヨーグルトマスクは４枚セットで４つのフレーバー(ストロベリー、キウイ、グレープ、グレープフルーツ)が売られています。私はキウイとグレープのマスクを買いました。私は比較的The Face Shopのシートマスクはよく知っていますが、このブランドのウォッシュオフタイプのマスクを使うのは初めてでした。グレープのヨーグルトマスクにはグレープの成分が含まれていて、The Face Shopによると肌に潤いを与え、柔らかくしてくれるそうです。このマスクにはミネラルオイル、アルコール、香料も含まれていますので、敏感肌の方にはヒリヒリするかもしれません(原料の詳細リストはWalgreensのサイトを参照)。マスクは洗顔後のキレイな肌に使用し、５～１０分後にお湯で洗い流します。

The Wash Off Yogurt Mask Pack is another beauty product I bought at The Face Shop in Seoul. The yogurt masks are sold in packs of 4 masks and come in four different "flavors": Strawberry, Kiwi, Grape, and Grape Fruit. I purchased the Kiwi and Grape Masks. Although I am quite familiar with The Face Shop's sheet masks, this was my first time using a wash-off type mask from the brand. The grape yogurt mask contains grape extract which, according to The Face Shop, moisturizes and softens the skin. The mask also contains mineral oil, alcohol, and fragrance, all of which can irritate sensitive skin. (For a detailed list of the ingredients, visit Walgreens' site.) The yogurt mask should be applied to a clean face and washed off with warm water after 5-10 minutes.

ヨーグルトマスクは濃くてベト付くのではないかと思っていましたが、意外と薄めの質感で全くベト付きませんでした。それぞれのマスクが入った容器は小さいですが、顔全体と首を覆うのには充分過ぎる程のヨーグルトが入っていました。マスクは洗い流すのも簡単で、肌を瑞々しく柔らかく保ってくれました。肌を刺激する成分がいくつか入っているのにもかかわらず、マスクを外した後には少しのベタ付きとチクチクする程度の痛みだけが残り、およそ１時間後くらいにはその両方とも無くなりました。The Face Shopのヨーグルトマスクはシートマスクよりも乾燥肌や敏感肌の方に適していると思いますが、一方でオイリーな肌の方にはヨーグルトマスクよりもシートマスクの方が適していると思います。シートマスクは敏感肌の方には乾燥したりヒリヒリしたりするかもしれませんが、ヨーグルトマスクの質感と成分はThe Face Shopの他のマスクよりも肌を落ち着かせて水分を保ってくれると思います。でも、このウォッシュオフタイプのヨーグルトマスクは、秋や冬といった季節には最適だと思いますが、暖かい季節にはちょっと重た過ぎると思います。正確な価格は覚えていないのですが、4枚入りのセットで4000ウォン(300円)くらいだったと思います。

I was expecting the yogurt mask to be thick and sticky but it was surprisingly somewhat thin in texture and not sticky (on application) at all. Even though the individual mask cartons appear small, there was more than enough yogurt to cover my entire face and neck. The mask also washed off easily, leaving my skin quite hydrated and soft. Despite some of the irritating ingredients in its formula, I found that I only experienced a little bit of stickiness and a prickly sensation after removing the mask, both of which disappeared an hour or so later. I think The Face Shop's yogurt mask suits dry and sensitive skin types better than the sheet masks while the opposite probably holds true for those with oily skin. Sheet masks can be quite drying and irritating if you have sensitive skin and I think the texture and formula of the yogurt mask is much more soothing and moisturizing than The Face Shop's other masks. Given that it is a yogurt mask, however, the Wash Off Yogurt Mask Pack probably works best during the fall and winter and might be too heavy for some during the warmer seasons. I do not remember the exact price but one pack of 4 cost around 4000 won.

SkinFood Cappuccino Scrub Body Wash

スキンフードのカプチーノ スクラブボディウォッシュはあまり期待せずに買った物でしたが、実際に使ったところとても素晴らしい物でした。ボディソープの名前に“カプチーノ“とありますが、全くカプチーノっぽさはありません。コーヒー、ヘーゼルナッツ、バニラが混ざり合ったような香りがあり、スキンフードのウェブサイトによれば、天然のハチミツと砂糖の成分が入っているようです。スキンフードが何故カプチーノという名前を商品に付けたのかは分かりませんが、それ以外に特に不満な点はありません。ボディウォッシュは泡立ちがよく、コスタ・リカ産のコーヒー成分が入ったソープは角質除去ビーズの役割を果たし、肌を滑らかにしてくれます。このボディウォッシュを使った後、シャワーから出ると私の肌が明らかに滑らかになっていると感じました。また、他のボディウォッシュを使った時ほど肌が乾燥せず(LUSHのココ夏ホリデーを除いて)、香りも良いです。実のところ、カプチーノ スクラブボディウォッシュは肌の引き締めとアンチエイジングに効果がある商品ということですが、その点に関してはちょっと疑問があります。でも、普通のボディウォッシュとしては、このスクラブボディウォッシュは非常に良いと思います。

Skin Food's Cappuccino Scrub Body Wash was product I purchased with low expectations that actually turned out to be great. Although the body soap has "cappuccino" in its name, there is nothing cappuccino-like about it. It smells of a mixture of coffee, hazelnut and vanilla and according to Skin Food's website, contains natural honey and sugar ingredients. I am not sure why Skin Food chose to call the body soap a cappuccino wash but other than that, I have no complaints. The wash works up a nice foamy lather and the Costa Rican coffee grounds act as exfoliating beads that smooth out the skin. I felt very clean after using the scrub and my skin was noticeably smoother after I got out of the shower. My skin was also not as dry as it usually gets when using other body washes (with the exception of LUSH's Big Calm Shower Jelly) and smelled rather nice. Apparently, the Cappuccino Scrub Body Wash is supposed to work as a slimming and anti-aging product and I am a bit skeptical about those claims, but as a regular body wash, I think that Skin Food's body scrub works quite well.

Missha Hot Burning Body Gel

ミシャのホットバーニングボディジェルは私がソウルで購入したもう一つのもので、日本のミシャストアでは見たことがありませんでした(オンラインストアでは購入可能ですが)。ホットバーニングボディジェルはセルライトに着目した、体を引き締めるジェルです。これは唐辛子、ビター折れん議、緑茶、カフェイン、メントールとペパーミントオイルが配合されています。まだセルライトの心配をする必要はそこまでない年齢ですが、歳を重ねた時に自分の体がどうなるか心配です。唐辛子の成分とメントールの成分により、ホットバーニングジェルを塗ると肌が燃えているような感じがします。痛いという感じではなく、変な感じがします。ジェルが肌に浸透するまでにそれほど時間はかかりませんし、塗ったところを一時的に引き締めてくれます。リサーチによると、セルライトを除去する商品というのは実際には長期間にわたってセルライトを減らす効果はほとんどなく、セルライトと弛んだ肌を引き締めるベストな方法は日々のエクササイズらしいです。でも、ホットバーニングジェルの一時的な効果でも満足しているので、日々のエクササイズにプラスして毎晩使っています(１日中使用するにはビターオレンジの香りが強すぎます)。ドラッグストアで売られているようなセルライトクリームと違い、ホットバーニングクリームは２００mlも入っていて、たったの９０００ウォン(日本円で現在約６５０円)です。

Missha's Hot Burning Body Gel is another beauty product I purchased in Seoul that I had not seen in the Missha stores in Japan (although it is available at the Missha Japan online store.) Hot Burning Body Gel is a cellulite-fighting, firming gel that can be used to reshape the body. It contains pepper and bitter orange extract, green tea, caffeine, as well as menthol and peppermint oil. Although I am not quite at the age where I need to worry about cellulite, I am concerned about what will happen to my body as I age. Due to the pepper extract and menthol in its formula, Hot Burning Body Gel really does feel like your skin is on fire when it is applied. It is more of an uncomfortable than painful sensation. It does not take long for the gel to be absorbed into the skin and it does temporarily firm the area where it has been absorbed. Research has shown that cellulite "eliminating" products do little to help combat cellulite in the long term and the best way to prevent cellulite and sagging skin is to regularly exercise. But I am pleased enough with Hot Burning's temporary firming effects to use it every night in addition to exercising everyday. (The bitter orange smell is too strong to use it during the day). While most cellulite creams, even the drugstore variety, are on the expensive side, Hot Burning Body Gel only cost me 9000 won (about 650 yen) for a whole 200ml which is quite a steal.

Dr. Jart Whitening Water Drop

Dr. Jartのホワイトニング ウォータードロップはブログ読者のNsさんに紹介して頂いた保湿クリームです。Dr. Jartは韓国の高級コスメブランドで、そのユニークな保湿クリームだけでなく、高品質のBBクリームを扱っていることでもよく知られています。この企業は国内の皮膚科、美容形成外科などの専門医たちによって数年前に設立され、全ての製品は無着色・無香料なので、全てのスキンタイプに優しい物になっています。ホワイトニング ウォータードロップはマルチアクションの保湿液で、美白効果、保湿効果を与え肌をスムーズにします。成分にはアルブチン、センテラ来リポソーム、ヒアルロン酸、ビタミンC、ビタミンKとキネチンがあります。無添加なのですが、ヴァーベナの香りがします。ウォータードロップを使って顔をマッサージするとクリームは小さな水滴に変化して、すぐに顔を冷やしてくれます。この水滴は肌に薄い膜を作り出し、お肌に水分を閉じ込めて一日中顔に潤いを与えてくれます。BBクリームを使っている方にとって、このウォータードロップはBBクリームのベースとして使えると思います。

Dr Jart's Whitening Water Drop is a moisturizer that was recommended to me by the lovely reader Ns. Dr Jart is a high-end Korean cosmetics brand well known not only for their very unique moisturizer but also for their high quality B.B creams. The young company was formed by specialists in the field of dermatology and cosmetic surgery and all of the brand's products are free of fragrances and dyes, so that they are friendly to all skin types. Whitening Water Drop is a multi-action moisturizer that is supposed to whiten, moisturize and soothe the skin. It contains, arbutin, centella liposome, hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, and kinetin. Although the product is fragrance-free, it smells a bit like verbena. When you massage Water Drop into your skin, the cream transforms into small droplets of water that immediately cool your face. The water drops are supposed to form a thin film on your skin to lock in moisture and keep your face hydrated all day. For those who use B.B creams, Water Drop can be used as a base to your B.B cream.

美白効果については語ることは出来ませんが、ウォータードロップは私の肌の紅潮を抑えてくれます。ミネラルウォータースプレーは一時的に顔の紅潮を抑えてくれますが、Dr. Jartのウォータードロップは冷却効果がとても長く残ります。ウォータードロップは暑い日やシャワーの後などの肌を落ち着かせて赤みを抑えてくれます。私はロザケアと酷い乾燥肌をもっているので、その他に保湿液（ファンケルのミルキーローション）を使っていますが、ウォータードロップを使うことによってそのミルキーローションの効果が更に良くなったと思います。ウォータードロップを先につけた後にミルキーローションをつけても、そのローションの保湿効果を閉じ込めて、私の顔を長時間にわたって冷やしてくれました。これはちょっとした暑さでも赤くなってしまうロザケアに悩む方々には非常に重要です。現在、私の頬はこの非常に蒸し暑い東京の気候においても、以前ほどは赤くなっていません。

I cannot speak to the whitening effects of the cream but I can say that Water Drop has greatly helped my flushing. Although mineral water sprays do a nice job of providing some temporary relief for flushing, the cooling effect of Dr Jart's moisturizing solution lasts much longer. The water drops soothe my skin and lessen the redness I experience after a shower or warm day. Because I have rosacea and such dry skin, I still use a separate moisturizer (FANCL's Milky Lotion) over the cream but I find that Water Drop has improved the effectiveness of Milky Lotion. It actually locks in the moisture from the lotion, even though I apply it if before I put on Milky Lotion, and keeps my face cool for hours. This is extremely important for rosaceans as even a little bit of heat can do a number on our faces. Now, my cheeks are not as red as they usually get despite the very humid weather we have been experiencing here in Tokyo

Dr Jartの商品は韓国のデパートやビューティーブティックで販売されており、アメリカの顧客のためにオンラインストアもあります。私は韓国のロッテデパートでホワイトニングウォータードロップを買いました。ロッテ免税店では３、５、７つずつをセット売りして、１つずつ買うよりも少し安い値段で売っていました。 １つだけでなく、そういったセットで買えば良かったなぁと思いました。次に韓国へ行ったら、もっとたくさん買って来ようと思います。

Dr Jart products are sold in department stores and beauty boutiques across South Korea and the brand even has an online store for US customers. I purchased Whitening Water Drop at the main Lotte Department store. The duty-free section of the store is actually selling packs of 3, 5 and (I think) 7 tubes of the moisturizer at a discounted price. I really wish I had opted for one of the sets instead of buying just one tube but I'll remember to get more the next time I'm in Korea.

The wonderful news:
On the 27th of this month, Yojiya will be opening a (permanent!) store in Hotel Okura Tokyo. The traditional Japanese cosmetics company has also started selling Maccha (green-tea) oil-blotting paper. You can purchase the blotting paper online. This is a seasonal item only available for a limited time.

The extremely sad news:
Stila is leaving Japan. Stila counters will disappear from Japanese department stores by the end of August and the Stila Japan online store has already shut down. I really wish I had ordered two Barbie Face Shimmer Powders. sob

Etude House Hand Bouquet Rich Butter Mask

エチュードハウスは韓国で最も人気のある、もしくは最も人気のあるコスメブランドのひとつで、アジア諸国に店舗があります。残念ながら、現在日本にはまだお店がありませんが、日本語のウェブサイトがオープンしたので、もうすぐ日本でもお目にかかれるようになるかもしれません。

Etude House is one of, if not the most, popular cosmetics brands in Korea, with several locations across Asia. Unfortunately, there is no Etude House in Japan at this time but the company has started up a Japanese website and hopefully, this means that we will be seeing the brand in Tokyo very soon.

ほとんどの韓国のコスメブランドがそれぞれ独自のフェイスシートマスクを販売しているのに対し、エチュードハウスは恐らく手のシートマスクを扱っている唯一のブランドだと思います。今年の１月に、メイクアップアーティストのIKKOさんが、人気のあるビューティーTV番組の「おネエ★MANS」でハンドブーケ リッチバターマスクを紹介しました。このマスクにはシアバター、高い保水力を持つ炭水化物のトレハロース、そしてオリーブオイルとアロエエキスが入っています。残念ながら、このマスクは肌を刺激することでよく知られるミネラルオイル、香料、フェノキエタノールを含んでいます。

While most Korean cosmetics brands offer their own facial sheet masks, Etude House may be the only brand that carries sheet masks for the hands. Back in January, makeup artist Ikko-san introduced the Hand Bouquet in Rich Butter Mask on the popular beauty TV program, "Onē★Mans." The mask ingredients include shea butter, the moisture-retaining carbohydrate trehalose, and olive and aloe extract. Unfortunately, the mask also contains mineral oil, perfume and phenoxyethanol, which are all known skin irritants.


このマスクを使う前に、手が綺麗であることを確認して下さい。シートマスクに手を入れてその上からプラスチックの手袋をかぶせ、マスクのエキスがそこら中に広がってしまわないようにします。このプラスチックの手袋は皮膚への浸透速度を速めてくれます。手袋をつけたら、マスクのパッケージに書かれている説明の通りに手のツボを押してマッサージします。１５～２０分後、手袋とマスクを取り外し、肌に残ったエキスをすり込みます。マスクのパッケージには、親指のすぐ下から手首のすぐ上までのツボをマッサージすると、“sniffles(スニッフル)”（鼻をすすること）に良いと書かれていますが、少し自分でリサーチしたところによると、伝統的な中国医療ではその辺りのツボはリンパ腺、肺、胸部に関係があるらしいです。“sniffles(スニッフル)”ですが、エチュードハウスが本当に言いたかったのは鼻水をすするのではなく、鼻づまり等を防いで呼吸しやすくすることだと思います。でも、“sniffles(スニッフル)”は可愛らしい表現なので、それもエチュードハウスっぽいと思います。

Before using the mask, make sure your hands are clean. Slip on the sheet mask and put on the plastic gloves to keep the butter extract from getting all over the place. The plastic gloves will also help speed up the (skin permeation) process. Once the gloves are on, massage your hands and apply pressure to the accupoints as directed on the hand mask package. After 15-20 minutes, remove the mask and rub any remaining solution into your skin. Although the mask indicates that massaging the pressure points right below your thumb and near your wrist will help with your "sniffles," I did a little research and found out that area is actually associated with the lymph glands and lung and chest area in traditional Chinese medicine. By "sniffles," I think Etude House is actually referring to nasal decongestion and not curing a runny nose. "Sniffles" is very cute way to refer to sinus problems, however, and cute is very Etude House.


やはり、マスクは私のアトピーの手を刺激し、マスクのエキスを洗い流した後もしばらくひりひりしました。もう片方の手はアトピーではないのでとてもスムーズで柔らかくなりました。シアバターがとても保湿効果がありましたが、普通のシアバターよりも油っこくなく、エキスもベトベトしませんでした。もうひとつのハンドブーケのマスクにリッチコラーゲンがありますが、そちらは後ほどレビューします。今のところは、左手だけにリッチバターを使っています。シートマスクや韓国のコスメに興味がある人には、ハンドブーケ リッチバターをオススメします。でも、手にアトピーや問題がある方は使用を控えた方が良いかもしれません。マスクは１セットで２０００ウォンです。エチュードハウスは同じように足のためのシートマスクを販売しています。

Unsurprisingly, the mask irritated my eczematic hand and my right hand stung long after washing off any remaining essence. On the other "hand," my eczema-free hand was very smooth and soft after using the mask. The shea butter was very moisturizing but not as oily as it can often get and the extract was not sticky, either. There is another Hand Bouquet mask, Rich Collagen, which I also purchased and will review sometime later. For now, I will be using Rich Butter only on my left hand. For anyone interested in sheet masks or Korean cosmetics in general, I highly recommend trying out Hand Bouquet Rich Butter. But anyone suffering from skin dermatitis on their hands should probably avoid the masks. One mask set for both hands costs 2000 won. Etude House also carries a similar sheet mask for the feet.

よーじや Aloe あぶらとり紙 (Oil-blotting paper)

日本の伝統コスメ会社よーじやの東京都内にある販売店とカフェの一つは、羽田空港の第１ターミナルにあります。そこでは天然のアロエを原材料に使用したアロエあぶらとり紙（以前は国外販売のみでした）を購入することが出来ます。よーじやの全てのあぶらとり紙と同じように、アロエも肌を刺激したり乾燥させたりすることなく、あぶらを取ってくれます。それでも、限定販売されたアロエよりも少しスムーズな柚子のあぶらとり紙の方が好きですが、アロエのあぶらとり紙は柚子の代わりとして、またちょっとしたお土産にも良いです。

Traditional Japanese cosmetics company Yojiya's one boutique and café in the Tokyo-area is located in Terminal 1 of the Haneda Airport. There, you can purchase their (previously overseas-only) Aloe oil-blotting paper made of natural aloe ingredients. Like all of Yojiya's blotting papers, the Aloe paper does an excellent job of absorbing oil without irritating or drying out your skin. Although, I still prefer their limited edition Yuzu paper, which is a hint smoother, the Aloe blotting paper is a nice substitute and makes a great little gift.


他のよーじやのあぶらとり紙と違い、羽田空港で売っているあぶらとり紙には「あぶらとり紙」の誕生に関する短い英語の説明がついています。これは空港でよーじやの商品を購入して海外の友人に日本のお土産として渡そうと考えている人々のことを考えた、素晴らしいアイデアだと思います。でも、英語の説明にはいくつか問題点・間違いがあります。例えば、「バイキンを取り除く」という説明が「“宝石”を取り除く」と間違えて書かれていたり、「舞妓」という言葉の意味や彼女達がどのような女性であるかを説明することなく使用したりしているところです。多くの外国人が「芸者」という言葉を耳にしたことはあると思いますが、ほとんどの人は「舞妓」という言葉を知らないと思います。ですので、「舞妓、芸者の見習い」や「修行中の芸者」という簡単な説明をつけると非常に分かりやすくなると思います。西洋の国々において芸者は人々を強く魅了する物のひとつであり、より多くの外国人女性がよーじやの商品に芸者が使われていると知ったら、よーじやは海外でより人気が高まると思います。

Unlike other Yojiya blotting papers, the blotting sheets sold at Haneda airport contain a short explanation of the origin of the aburatorigami in English. This is a wonderful idea as many people who purchase Yojiya's products at the airport plan to give them to their overseas friends as Japanese souvenirs. However, there are some problems with English text. Instead of eliminating germs, the aloe extract in their blotting paper apparently eliminates "gems." They keep referring to the "maiko women" of Japan without any explanation as to who these "maiko" women are. While most have heard of the geisha, few outside Japan are aware of the maiko. Something as simple as "maiko, geisha apprentices," or "geisha-in-training" would be helpful. There is a growing fascination with the geisha in the West and if more women found out that the geisha use/used Yojiya's products, I think the company's popularity would increase overseas.


とはいうものの、よーじやの英語による説明の大部分は分かりやすいものになっていますし、あぶらとり紙は非常に高品質な商品です。もし、京都もしくは羽田／成田／関西空港に立ち寄る機会がありましたら、よーじやのお店に立ち寄ることを強くお勧めします。海外配送を行っているかどうかは分かりませんが、よーじやにはオンラインショップもあります。

For the most part, however, Yojiya's English is understandable and their oil-blotting products are excellent. If you ever happen to find yourself in Kyoto or Haneda/Narita/Kansai airport, you should most definitely check their stores out. They also have an online store, although I am not sure if they are still shipping overseas at the moment.

Jill Stuart Blotting Paper N and Case

ジェリーアイカラーのクリスタルスカイと同時に、ジルスチュアートのサマーコレクションのブロッティングペーパーNとケースを買いました。ソフトケースは1,800円であぶら取り紙７０枚も入っています。あぶら取り紙のリフィルもありまして、７０枚のパックは525円です。ティッシュケースと同じように、ジルのケースはあぶら取り紙を一つ一つ取るように出来ています。

Along with the Jelly Eye Color in Crystal Sky, I also purchased Jill Stuart's Blotting Paper N and case from their new summer collection. The soft case is 1,800 yen and comes with 70 sheets of oil-blotting paper. Refills of the oil-blotting paper cost 525 yen and come in packs of 70 sheets. The case works much like a tissue case in that it allows you to pull one blotting paper sheet out at a time.


ジルのブロッティングペーパーNは硬いパウダー用のあぶら取り紙ですが、他のパウダータイプより全然薄いです。しかし、この紙は少し粗くて自分の肌をちょっと乾燥させたりします。乾燥肌や敏感肌の方にはお勧め出来ません。でもケースはとても可愛いらしいし鏡も付いているので便利なのであんまりガッカリしてはいません。ジルスチュアートのファンにとってはブロッティングペーパーNのケースは良いお手頃なアイテムだと思います。でも良いあぶら取り紙を探している方にはよーじやの柚子あぶら取り紙を勧めします。

Blotting Paper N is the hard, powder-type blotting paper that is actually much thinner that most other powder-types. However, I find that the paper feels a little rough and the powder formula leaves my skin dry. I would not recommend this paper to anyone with dry or sensitive skin. The case, however, is charming and comes with a mirror which is quite useful, so I am not completely disappointed with my purchase. If you are a Jill Stuart fan, the Blotting Paper N case makes a nice, inexpensive item to add to your collection. But if you are looking for some quality oil-blotting paper, I would urge you to consider Yojiya's Yuzu paper.

とB.Bクリームのサンプルが２つ入っています。今はまだキウィリフレッシングパックしか使っていないですが、使った後に鼻の周りに小さい赤いスポットが出てきました。でも肌に潤いを与えてくれたので、夏より冬に良いスキンケアアイテムかもしれません。今週中にB.Bクリームの一つをレビューしたいと思います。

Last week, I purchased a skincare set from Missha, a very popular Korean cosmetics brand. The set included:

and 2 B.B cream samples. I've only tried out the Kiwi Refreshing Pack so far and unfortunately, little red spots broke out around my nose after using the mask. It did keep my skin hydrated so this might make a better winter (as opposed to summer) skincare item. I hope to review one of the B.B creams this week.

LUSH ココ夏ホリデー (Big Calm) Shower Jelly

日本で売っているボディーウォッシュは、日本に向けている外国ブランドも含めて、大体脂っぽい肌の方をターゲットしています。例えば、アメリカでダヴのボディーウォッシュは濃厚でクリーミーですが、同じウォッシュは日本では水っぽくて薄く、アメリカンバージョンほど滑らかではありません。ジョンソン＆ジョンソンのエキストラケアドライスキンボディーウォッシュという、他の日本にあるウォッシュより潤いを与えるものを使っていますが、まだシャワーから出ると肌が乾燥しています。先週、あるLUSH店に入って買い物をして、シャワージェリーのココ夏ホリデーを買いました。ココ夏ホリデーはココナッツとパイナップルのエキスが入っていて、とてもチャイナブルーのカクテルみたいなトロピカルな香りがします。ジェリーを小さじ１杯分使うだけで結構泡立ちも良く、キレイに洗うだけでなく肌にもとてもやさしく感じます。シャワーから出て乾いたら肌がとても滑らかに潤って、他のローションが必要ないくらい良かったです。左手のアトピーも非常に良くなりました。良い匂いもしました。LUSHのシャワージェリーは多分、今まで使ったボディーウォッシュの中で一番効果が良かったので、真剣にこれからシャワージェリーを使おうと考えています。ジェリーもビーガンでどんな肌にも良いです。唯一の短所はジェリーの形なので、ボトル・ポンプ用のウォッシュより使いにくくてちょっと高いところです。税込９８０円です。

Body wash sold in Japan, including foreign brands tailored to the Japanese market, are made for more oily-prone (not dry) skin. For example, Dove's body wash in the US is thick and creamy while the same wash sold in Japan is very thin and not nearly as moisturizing. Though I've been using Johnson and Johnson's Extra Care Dry Skin Body Wash, which is more moisturizing than most other body washes in Japan, my skin still feels dry after getting out of the shower. Last week, I stepped into LUSH and in addition to purchasing a couple of other products, I got their shower jelly in Coconatsu Holiday (AKA: Big Calm Shower Jelly). Coconatsu Holiday contains coconut and pineapple extract and has a very tropical scent that smells like the cocktail China Blue. You need no more than a teaspoon of the jelly to get a nice foamy lather and the jelly not only cleans well but feels incredibly gentle. Once I dried off, my skin was amazingly smooth and hydrated and did not even need moisturizing. The eczema on my right hand had significantly improved and I smelled quite good, too. I think LUSH's shower jelly has yielded the best results out of all of the body washes that I have ever used and I am seriously considering switching to their jellies in the future. Their shower jellies are also vegan and great for all skin types. The only downside to the wash is that it is a jelly which not as easy to use as something in a pump or bottle and it's a bit pricey. 980 yen including tax.

dProgram Mask QQ

資生堂のdプログラムに乾燥した敏感肌用のシートマスクがあります。マスクQQはパラベンフリー、香料や着色料がまったく入っていないもので、うるおいを与え、やわらかで瑞々しい肌にさせます。クリーン製法したものを新鮮に使うため、ハイドロエッセンスがチューブに入っていて、シートと別々になっています。１つのマスクQQセットには４回分が入っています。

Shiseido dProgram's carries a facial sheet mask for dry, sensitive skin. Mask QQ is free of parabens, fragrance, and dyes. It hydrates, moisturizes, and smooths the skin. To keep the mask's contents as clean and fresh as possible, Mask QQ's hydro-essence is kept in a tube, separate from the sheet mask. One Mask QQ box contains four masks.


使用法はとても簡単です。最初はシートマスクが入っている袋を開けて、ウィップコットンマスクを入れたまま、チューブに入ったハイドロエッセンスの美容液をいれます。次に美容液をマスクに十分含ませるために袋を軽くもみます。マスクに十分含ませたら、袋から取り出して顔につけてください。最後に３分たったらマスクをはがして残ったエッセンスを肌になじませます。

The instructions are very simple. First, open the package containing the sheet mask and pour the contents of the hydro-essence tube into the package while the cotton whip mask is still inside. Press the package, moving the essence around to ensure that it is evenly distributed on the mask. Next, take out and unfold the mask and put it on. After three minutes, remove the mask and massage any remaining essence into your skin.


ホィップコットンシートマスクは結構柔らかくて大きいです。アニメのような形している目穴は今までに使ったシートマスクの中で一番大きく、眉毛までも穴に入ってしまいます。目と鼻の穴があまりにも大きいので、マスクに触れなかった顔の部分が多かったです。でも、マスクは運動で火照っていた肌を落ち着かせてくれました。そしてハイドロエッセンスも肌に潤いを与え、少し滑らかでスムーズにさせ、他のシートマスクと違ってあんまりベタベタしませんでした。肌は少し露のように潤って赤みも結構なくなり、エッセンスの成分もヒリヒリしなかったです。でもマスクQQは普段のスキンケアとして使うよりも、乾燥した肌（特に冬に）のトリートメントとして使った方が良いと思います。４回分の１箱は税込み2,100円なので１枚は525円です。また買うかどうか分からないですが、敏感肌でなかなか使えそうなシートマスクが見付からない方は試してみるといいかもしれません。今は気温が上がっているのでエッセンスを使う前に冷蔵すればマスクも顔をもっと冷えるかもしれませんが、ハイドロエッセンスを冷蔵した時に中の成分がどうなるか分かりません。

The whip cotton sheet mask is quite soft but very large. The anime-like eye holes are the biggest that I have ever seen and you can fit your whole eyebrow and more through the hole. Because the eye and nose holes were especially large, there were several parts on my face that did not touch the mask which was kind of disappointing. But the mask did calm my face which was flushed after exercising. The hydro-essence also moisturized and hydrated my skin without being too sticky unlike most other facial masks. My skin was left somewhat dewy and much less red, and none of the ingredients in the mask irritated my skin. However, I do think Mask QQ should be used as a treatment for dry skin (especially in the winter) rather than as a regular skincare item. One box of four masks costs 2,000 yen without tax which is 500 yen per mask. I don't know if I would purchase this again but those who are having trouble finding a rosacea or sensitive skin-friendly mask may want to consider dProgram's Mask QQ. Now that the weather is warm, it might be a good idea to refrigerate the essence first so that the mask will be especially cool on the face, but refrigerating the hydro-essence might reduce the effectiveness of the ingredients in the mask.

美肌一族 (Bihada Ichizoku) Chocolate Sheet Mask

４月１５日に発売され、美肌一族の限定品チョコレートシートマスクはラブラボと天才パティシエ辻口博啓のコラボです。マスクは乾燥肌、シワ、毛穴や色々な「活性酸素」が原因で引き起こされる問題のために作られた物です。その活性酸素の効果を取り除くカカオポリフェノールはマスクの主成分です。カカオエキス以外に加水分解コラーゲンとヒアルロン酸Naとイチゴ果汁が入っています。

Released on April 15th, Bihada Ichizoku's limited edition Chocolate Sheet Mask is a collaboration between Love Labo and the renown pâtissier, Hironobu Tsuchiguchi. The mask was developed to address dryness, wrinkles, clogged pores, and other skin problems caused by "reactive oxygen." The main ingredient in the mask, cacao polyphenol, supposedly removes the negative effects of reactive oxygen. In addition to cacao extract, the mask also contains hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid, and strawberry juice.


チョコレートシートマスクは多分一番美味しい匂いがするマスクです。チョコのペイストリーみたいな匂いがしますし、何だか日本のクレープ屋さんのイチゴチョコクレープを思いだします。成分のせいだと思いますが、マスクを取り外すのがちょっと難しいです。でもチョコレートマスクの良いところはマスクを付けると他の美肌一族シートマスクよりも軽く、ベタベタしません。でも、パックを取ってエキスを乾燥させると、少し薄い層のチョコを感じて、エキスもベタベタします。後で出掛けるつもりだったら、このマスクをしない方がいいです。普通の美肌一族マスクは肌を乾燥させたりチクチク刺激したりしますが、このチョコレートシートマスクのチョコはほっぺたの赤みを抑えて、かゆみも生じさせませんでした上で肌をスムーズにさせました。美肌一族のマスクの中ではこのチョコマスクが一番好きで、ラブラボにはこれをレギュラー商品にすることを再考して欲しいと思います。

The Chocolate Sheet Mask is probably the most delicious selling mask that you will ever try. It smells like a chocolate pastry and reminds me of those chocolate-strawberry crêpes sold in little crêpe shops and stands across Japan. Most likely due to the ingredients, it is a little bit difficult to unfold. But what I like about the chocolate mask is that, when you put it on, it is surprisingly light and less sticky than some of Bihada Ichizoku's other masks. Though when you remove the mask and allow the extract to dry, you do feel like a very very thin layer of chocolate is covering your face. The extract also dries a bit sticky. You should definitely not use this mask right before you step outside. The regular Bihada Ichizoku masks can sometimes leave my skin dry and irritated but I think the chocolate in the Chocolate Sheet Mask prevented my cheeks from getting itchy and red and left my skin smooth. Out of all of the Bihada Ichizoku masks, I would say that this is my favourite and I wish Love Labo would consider making it a regular product.

I purchased the Perfect Box from Marunouchi Loft but I've noticed that most other drugstores and variety shops do not carry this product. If you don't live near a Loft, you might have an easier time purchasing the box online.

I've wanted to read the Bihada Ichizoku manga for the longest time and was so happy to finally acquire the past two books and the latest volume in the series. The new chocolate mask is also included in the set which is great. If you are a Bihada Ichizoku fan, the Perfect Box is definitely not something to pass up. And for 2,375 yen including tax, it's a steal!
