Jill Stuart 2010 Spring Collection: Jelly Lip Gloss 17 & Jewel Crystal Eyes 03

先週の金曜日にジルスチュアート ビューティーは、２色の限定ジェリー リップグロスを含む2010 スプリング ポイントメイクアップ コレクションをリリースしました。私はジェリー リップグロスの17チェリーポップを選びました。なぜだか2月号のマキアではとてもオレンジ色に見え、同じく2月号のヴォーチェではマゼンタ色に見えましたが、若々しくて魅力的なラズベリー色です。このグロスはまぁまぁ発色が良く、唇に素敵なピンクレッドの色味を与えてくれて、またピンクのラメも含まれています。他のジェリー リップグロスと同様にちょっとべと付いて濃いですが、唇をシャイニーでプリプリした感じに保ってくれます。17チェリーポップには満足していますが、もうちょっと発色が良ければなぁと思います。デイルックでもドレスアップした時のナイトルックにも良く合うと思います。ジェリーリップグロスは2,310円(税込み)です。

Last Friday, Jill Stuart Beauty released their Spring 2010 Point Makeup Collection, including two limited Jelly Lip Gloss shades. I picked up the Jelly Lip Gloss in 17 Cherry Pop. For some reason, Cherry Pop looks quite orange in the February edition of Maquia and very magenta in the February issue of Voce but it is a more youthful and attractive raspberry shade. The lip gloss is somewhat pigmented to give your lips a nice pink-red tint and contains pink shimmer. It is slightly sticky and thick like all of the Jelly Lip Glosses but leaves the lips looking shiny and plump. I am quite pleased with 17 Cherry Pop although I do wish it were slighter more pigmented. I think it would work well for both a day look and a more dressed-up night look. One Jelly Lip Gloss is 2,310 yen (including tax).


03 プリンセス サファイアはスプリング コレクションとして発売された４種類のジュエルクリスタル アイズ パレットのうちの１つです。これは私がジルで初めて買ったアイシャドウ パレットです。全てのシャドウはとてもシアーですが、ピンクとブラックは他の色よりも少し発色が良いです。色白の方にはサーモンとラベンダーはあまりハッキリと見えないかもしれません。シャドウは最初ちょっともろい感じですが、非常に柔らかくてすぐ肌に馴染み、2009 クリスマスコフレのミックスフェイスパウダー コンパクト 101マシュマロ パフィーのようです。シャドウに含まれているラメは大きめなので、プリンセス サファイアはスパークルなパレットです。他の大きめのラメが入ったシャドウと同じく、まぶたから落ちてあちこちに散らばってしまいます。ジュエルクリスタル アイズはとても可愛いですが、実用的なものとは言いがたいです。もし既にジルのパレットをお持ちでしたら、このシリーズのものはあまりオススメしません。ジュエルクリスタル アイズは熱烈なジル スチュアートのファンの方々にだけオススメします。もし、もっと発色の良いジルのアイシャドウを試してみたい方は、パレットのシャドウよりもクオリティの高いアイカラーシャドウのうちのひとつをオススメしたいと思います。ジルの多くのコスメ商品と同様、ジュエルクリスタル アイズも香りが付いています。パレットは5,250円(税込み)です。

03 Princess Sapphire is one of four new Jewel Crystal Eyes palettes released as part of the spring collection. It is also my first Jill Stuart eyeshadow palette. All of the shadows are quite sheer, although the pink and black are slightly more pigmented. If you are pale person, the salmon and lavender will not show very well on your skin. The shadows are slightly crumbly at first but are very soft and blend right into the skin, much like the Mix Face Powder Compact in 101 Marshmallow Puffy from the 2009 Christmas coffret. The glitter in the shadows is quite large, which means that Princess Sapphire is a very sparkly palette. But like all shadows with large shimmer, the shimmer falls off your lids and gets everywhere. Jewel Crystal Eyes is very cute palette but not a practical one. If you already own a Jill Stuart palette, I would not recommend purchasing one from this series. In fact, I would only recommend the Jewel Crystal Eyes to the most avid Jill Stuart fan. If you would like to try a more pigmented Jill Stuart eyeshadow, I suggest trying out one of their Eye Color shadows which are of better quality than the palette shadows, in my opinion. Like most Jill Stuart Cosmetics products, the Jewel Crystal Eyes is scented. One palette is 5,250 yen (including tax).

The Jill Stuart Sweetness Collection is, in my opinion, the Christmas coffret that provides the best deal out of all of the coffrets released this year. For 7,500 yen (tax), you will receive the Mix Face Powder Compact in 101 Marshmallow Puffy, an original Jill Stuart face brush to apply the face powder, the Jell Eye Color N in 103 Snow Parfait, the Jelly Lip gloss in 101 Sugar Kiss, the Nail Lacquer N in 106 Romantic Macaron, a Nail Art Sticker set and greeting card, an emery board and a Jill Stuart original pouch. If you are interested in Jill Stuart's beauty line but have never had the chance to try their products, the Christmas coffret is a great way to sample their makeup.

オリジナルポーチはフリルが付いていてお姫様のような、いかにもジルスチュアートらしいスタイルです。私はいかにも女の子っぽい感じの物はあまり好まないので、このポーチのデザインはあまり魅力的ではないですが、ポーチはかなり大きくてメイク用品を入れるには良いです。

The original pouch is very frilly and princessy, just what you would expect from Jill Stuart Beauty. I am not a girly girl so the design has no appeal to me but the pouch is quite large and great for storing makeup.

The Jelly Lip Gloss is quite similar to Lancôme's Juicy Tubes except that its formula is thinner, slightly less sticky, and contains finer shimmer. 101 Sugar Kiss goes on mostly sheer but it is jam-packed with magenta shimmer and also has a somewhat milky-appearance on the lips.

103 スノーパフェは淡いローズピンクですがピンクとゴールドのラメがウォームトーンな感じに見せてくれます。

I have reviewed two different shades from the Jelly Eye Color N collection before and you may read the reviews here (07 Jewel Flash) and here (08 Crystal Sky). 103 Snow Parfait is a pale rose pink but the pink and gold shimmer in the Jelly Eye make it look warm-toned.

まだ、スウィートネス コレクションのネイル用品はまだ試してないのですが、ネイルスティッカーは非常に薄くて使いやすそうですし、エメリーボードは典型的な爪やすり、そしてネイルラッカー N106 ロマンティック マカロンはベージュピンクに良質のピンクラメが入っていて、パールのようなツヤがあります。

I have yet to try any of the nail products from the Sweetness Collection but I can say that the nail stickers are quite thin and should be easy to use, the emery board is your typical nail-file emery board, and the Nail Lacquer N in 106 Romantic Macaron is a beige-pink shade with fine pink shimmer and a pearly sheen.

ミックスフェイスパウダー コンパクト 101 マシュマロパフィーはコンパクトの中で砕けやすいですが、驚く程に柔らかく(まるでマシュマロのように!)、肌に付けるとすぐに肌に浸透します。マシュマロパフィーに入っている全4色は全てシアーで、とてもキラキラしています。とてもキラキラしているので多くの人が使うとは思えませんし、ビジネスシーンや大人の女性には最も適さない商品だと思います。フェイスパウダーとは言っていますが、私はマシュマロパフィーはボディシマーとして使うのが一番だと思うので、首や腕、またはほんの少しを目の下に付けることをオススメします。

The Mix Face Powder Compact in 101 Marshmallow Puffy is crumbly in the compact but incredibly soft (like marshmallows!) and immediately melts into the skin once it has been applied. All of the four shades in Marshmallow Puffy are sheer and extremely shimmery. It is so shimmery that I doubt many will actually use this product and it is most definitely not work appropriate or appropriate for the more mature woman. Although it is described as a face powder, I think Marshmallow Puffy would work best as body shimmer and I highly recommend applying it to your neck, arms and legs, and perhaps, just a dab under your eyes.

ミックスフェイス コンパクトのブラシは可愛らしくて(便利な)ケースに入っています。金属で出来ているので、あまり傷つきにくいですし、そのコンパクトなサイズは旅行にはもってこいです。私は普段、合成繊維のブラシだけを使うのですが、このジルのブラシはそうではないと思うので、将来的に環境に優しくて非動物性のブラシを販売して欲しいです。

The brush for the Mixed Face Compact comes in a lovely (and useful) case. Since it is made of metal, it should not damage easily and its compact size makes it a great travel product. I only use synthetic brushes, however, and I do not think that this is a synthetic brush, so I hope Jill Stuart will consider releasing eco-friendly and cruelty-free brushes in the future.

まとめると、このスウィートネス コレクションは非常に良いクリスマスコフレです。最高に素晴らしいというわけではありませんが、値段の割に多くの物が入っていますし、いくつかの商品は普通に使えそうです。覚えておいて頂きたい大事な点は、スウィートネス コレクションの全ての商品には香りが付いていて、マシュマロパフィーは少し乾燥させて、雲母を含んでいるということです。

Overall, the Sweetness Collection is a decent Christmas coffret. It is not spectacular but it gives you a lot for your yen and I can see myself regularly using some of the products. It is important to note that all of makeup in the Sweetness Collection is scented and the Marshmallow Puffy, which I found slightly drying, contains mica.

Jill Stuart Eye Color in 07 Purple Jewel and 02 Peacock Feather

およそ2ヶ月前、ジルスチュアートのアイカラーシャドウS-07パープルジュエルとS-02ピーコックフェザーを買いました。いつもジルスチュアートのジェリーでないアイシャドウを試したかったのですが、ジルのパレットはいつもシアーなものが多いので、代わりにシングルアイシャドウを選びました。アイカラーは発色が良くてきめ細やか、いくらかクリーミーな質感です。パープルジュエルはピンクとパープルのラメを含んでいる明るいパープル色です・・・容器に入った状態では。まぶたに付けるとマジェンタに見えることが分かりました。以前にお話ししたように、ピンクシャドウは私の肌にあまり合わないですし、大抵の場合私の目を腫れぼったく見せます。パープル ジュエルは可愛いシャドウですが、私にピッタリ合う色ではないです

About two months ago, I purchased Jill Stuart's Eye Color shadow in S-07 Purple Jewel and S-02 Peacock Feather. I have always wanted to try a non-jelly Jill Stuart eyeshadow but because their palettes always seem to be sheer, I decided to go with a couple of their mono eyeshadows instead. The Eye Colors are well-pigmented, fine and have a somewhat creamy texture. Purple Jewel, which contains pink and purple shimmer, is a bright purple shade... In the container. I found that, when I applied the shadow to my lid, it looked almost magenta. As I have mentioned before, pink shadows do not go well with my skin tone and often make my eyes looks swollen and puffy. Purple Jewel is still a pretty shadow but is not the right shade for me.


ピーコック フェザーも私の目に付けると違って見えます。容器に入った状態では、深くてティールグリーンですが、シャドウにブルーパールが入っているせいか、肌に付けるとコバルトブルーに見えます。ピーコック フェザーは深いブルーが好きなのでそこまでガッカリはしませんでしたが、ジルスチュアートがアイカラーコレクションに良質のパープルシャドウを出さなかったことは残念です。多分、次回はブルーとゴールドパールが入っているコスメデコルテ マジーデコのピュアカラーPU173 Hydrangeaを試してみようと思います。

Peacock Feather also looked very different on my eyes. In the container, it is a deep, almost-teal green but on the skin, it has more of a cobalt blue hue, likely due to the blue pearls in the shadow. Peacock Feather was not as much as a disappointment as I also like deep blue shades but I am sad that Jill Stuart does not carry a proper purple shadow in their Eye Color collection. I think I might try Cosme Decorte Magie Deco's PU173 Hydrangea Pure Color shadow, which has blue and gold pearls, next time.

Jill Stuart Jelly Eye Color N in 07 Jewel Flash

私は最近、ジルスチュワートのジェリーアイカラーN 07ジュエルフラッシュを買いました。ジュエルフラッシュは明るいライラックシャドウで、付けると容器の中に入った状態と全く同じ色合いを見せてくれます。ピンクとパープルのラメはジェリーカラーに素晴らしいキラキラを与えています。07ジュエルフラッシュと08クリスタルスカイはパープルカラーということになっていますが、ジュエルフラッシュは間接光のもとで暗めのグレーかブラウンに見えるクリスタルスカイよりもパープル味が強いです。個人的には優スウィートで優雅なフェアリールックのジュエルフラッシュが好きですが、クリスタルスカイ。私が以前書いたジェリーアイズとクリスタルスカイの詳しいレビューがありますので、ご興味のある方は是非ご覧下さい。ジェリーアイズのキラキラを取り除くのは非常に困難なので、洗い流すメイク落としに加えて拭き取りタイプのメイク落としを使用することを強くオススメします。

I recently purchased the Jill Stuart Jelly Eye Color N in 07 Jewel Flash. Jewel Flash is a bright lilac shadow that, on the eyes, looks exactly how it appears in the container. The pink and purple shimmer give the Jelly Color an especially wonderful sparkle. Though both 07 Jewel Flash and 08 Crystal Sky are supposed to be purple shades, Jewel Flash is much more purple as Crystal Sky has a tendency to look a like a dull grey or brown under indirect light. I personally prefer Jewel Flash -it is great for a sweet, dainty, fairy-like look. But others may choose Crystal Sky instead because it a slightly more grown up shadow. It can be a challenge to remove the glitter in the Jelly Eyes so I highly recommend using a wipe-off makeup remover in addition to a wash-off type makeup remover.

Jill Stuart Blotting Paper N and Case

ジェリーアイカラーのクリスタルスカイと同時に、ジルスチュアートのサマーコレクションのブロッティングペーパーNとケースを買いました。ソフトケースは1,800円であぶら取り紙７０枚も入っています。あぶら取り紙のリフィルもありまして、７０枚のパックは525円です。ティッシュケースと同じように、ジルのケースはあぶら取り紙を一つ一つ取るように出来ています。

Along with the Jelly Eye Color in Crystal Sky, I also purchased Jill Stuart's Blotting Paper N and case from their new summer collection. The soft case is 1,800 yen and comes with 70 sheets of oil-blotting paper. Refills of the oil-blotting paper cost 525 yen and come in packs of 70 sheets. The case works much like a tissue case in that it allows you to pull one blotting paper sheet out at a time.


ジルのブロッティングペーパーNは硬いパウダー用のあぶら取り紙ですが、他のパウダータイプより全然薄いです。しかし、この紙は少し粗くて自分の肌をちょっと乾燥させたりします。乾燥肌や敏感肌の方にはお勧め出来ません。でもケースはとても可愛いらしいし鏡も付いているので便利なのであんまりガッカリしてはいません。ジルスチュアートのファンにとってはブロッティングペーパーNのケースは良いお手頃なアイテムだと思います。でも良いあぶら取り紙を探している方にはよーじやの柚子あぶら取り紙を勧めします。

Blotting Paper N is the hard, powder-type blotting paper that is actually much thinner that most other powder-types. However, I find that the paper feels a little rough and the powder formula leaves my skin dry. I would not recommend this paper to anyone with dry or sensitive skin. The case, however, is charming and comes with a mirror which is quite useful, so I am not completely disappointed with my purchase. If you are a Jill Stuart fan, the Blotting Paper N case makes a nice, inexpensive item to add to your collection. But if you are looking for some quality oil-blotting paper, I would urge you to consider Yojiya's Yuzu paper.

Jill Stuart Jelly Eye Color N in 08 Crystal Sky

６月５日にジルスチュアートのサマーコレクションが発売になり、ジェリーアイカラーNの１０色が新しく出ました。自分はジルのサマーキャペンのためにモデルが使っているパープルのジェリーアイカラーの08 クリスタルスカイを買いました。ジェリーのシャドウはとても「ジェリー」っぽくて、みずみずしいです。アイシャドウとして使ってもいいですし、他のシャドウのベースとしても使えます。クリスタルスカイはかなり発色が良いので、そんなに使わなくてもいいですし、色の強弱をジェリーの使う量によってコントロールできます。シャドウはすぐに乾きますのでメイクしやすいです。ジェリーに入っているピュアクリスタルパウダーはキラキラがとても多く、クリスタルスカイには白い輝きと紫の輝きがあるので、その時々でジェリーの色が変化して見えます。自然光の下ではシャドウがもっとモデルと同じ感じのパープル系になり、屋内ではもっと濃い紫っぽいグレーな感じがします。ジェリーは薔薇の香りがしますが、全く目をヒリヒリさせませんでした。クリスタルスカイは初めてのジルのジェリーアイカラーでしたが非常に満足できたので、他の色も使ってみたいと思います。税込2,310円でデパートのコスメブランドのクリームシャドウとしては結構普通の値段です。

On June 5th, Jill Stuart Cosmetics released its 2009 Summer Collection including 10 all-new Jelly Eye Colors. I purchased the Jelly Eye Color N in 08 Crystal Sky which is the same purple shadow that the model is wearing in Jill's summer campaign. The jelly shadow is very "jelly-like" and cool on the eyes. You can use it as a single eyeshadow or as a shadow base. Crystal Sky is quite pigmented so a little goes a long way and you can control the intensity of the jelly by increasing the amount of it you apply to your lid. The shadow also dries immediately so it is quite easy to build or layer upon it. The pure crystal powder in the eye color contains a lot of sparkle and Crystal Sky has both white and purple shimmer that will change the shade of the jelly depending on where you are. Under natural light, the shadow has a more purplish appearance somewhat similar to what you see on the model but inside, under a yellow light, the shadow has a deep, purplish-grey hue. The jelly has a rose scent but the fragrance has not irritated my eyes, at all. Crystal Sky was my first Jelly Eye Color purchase and I am so pleased that I would like to try out some of the other shades. With tax, a single Jelly Eye Color is 2,310 yen which is pretty standard for a department store brand cream shadow.
